The World Beer Pong tour will be making a trip down to Acapulco for Spring Break the week of March 8th - March 15th. In conjunction with StudentCity.com the country's #1 spring break provider, the WBPT will be hosting two Atlantic City qualifiers on site at the Playa Suites hotel in Acapulco.
"We've never hosted a tournament outside of the United States before, and we're real excited to bring the tour down to Acapulco, right in the heart of Spring Break mayhem!" remarked Peter Altholz, WBPT President. "Entry to the tournament will be open to all spring breakers, and since the drinking age in Mexico is 18, it will open up our events to participants who normally wouldn't be able to compete in the US."
The entire WBPT staff will be on site along with several winning teams from the WBPT's Fall '08 season where free spring break trips were handed out to top placing teams courtesy of StudentCity.com. One of the Fall '08 winners, the Designated Drinkers from Michigan - who also placed fourth at the World Series of Beer Pong in Vegas - are very excited for the trip. Team captain, Dane Ellis remarked, "We've traveled to New York from Michigan several times to play in WBPT tournaments and it always pays off. Now we're going on a free trip to Acapulco that we won at a WBPT tournament, and in Acapulco we'll be playing in a tournament to win a free trip to Atlantic City in June. We're literally traveling the world and playing in WBPT tournaments, it's awesome!"
The World Beer Pong Tour invites any spring breakers in Acapulco to enter the tournament. Signups will be available on our website or in person on-site in Acapulco. Entry will be $40/team and will include all beer for tournament games courtesy of Corona.
