Fall Tournaments Coming Soon

'Mustache Rides' Go Undefeated at Buffalo Season Opener, Win Trip to AC

64 Teams showed up Friday night to compete at Quote Nightclub in Buffalo, NY; the WBPT's biggest Buffalo tournament to date. For Lockport natives, Tom Castaldo and Andy Baxter of the 'Mustache Rides', it was a night of debauchery and victory. They battled through the entire tournament undefeated. “There was just no competition,” exclaimed Castaldo, “we won most of our games by 5 cups or more.”

During the finals, amid fire breathing tricks at the bar and Quote's 'naughty school girl competition' on the dance floor, The Mustache Rides didn't allow themselves to be distracted as they defeated '2 Dudes 10 Cups' in their closest game of the night. '2 Dudes 10 Cups', comprised of Sunjay Kapoor and Joe Vernicelli, went home with 2nd place, as the Muddy Blumpkins’ Tyler Walling and Sean Scott took down 3rd.

Be sure to check out other 'upstate' New York events this week in Ithaca (Wednesday) and Rochester (Thursday). The WBPT's next Buffalo event will be scheduled for early-mid April and will be announced this week.

Oh it's all good...like I said, we were just wondering. Yea the whole table issues were out of your guy's control. The school girl contest thing made it hectic in there, it was sweet though.. yea were still gonna go to fredonia, we always have a great time at your tourneys

Hey hurley... my bad, I wrote the article.. we actually had 62 teams playing (it was supposed to be 64 but two pre-paid teams didn't show) which explains the record discrepancy. As far as shooting issues... if you have any problems about table placement or people bothering you, you just have to tell the WBPT staff about it. At this point it's obviously a little late, but next tourney come up to us and tell us about it. Hope to see you at the next one. With your record leading into that 6th game it seems like you have a pretty good chance at taking it down.

Alright, just want to know how this happened... It was 64 team double elimination tournament with no byes supposedly. We, Donkey Punch were 5-0 and had to play the Mustache Rides while they were only 4-0... well, no excuses but they beat us by 3 cups, we had off game. Once, they beat us they claimed a guarenteed 1,2,3 or 4 spot, being 5-0. That loss put us at 5-1. I'm not angry about this, just want to know how it happened. The thing that really angried me was the final two games, being on the side of the table where the bar entrance was, we were being pushed and kicked while trying to shoot, or had to wait 3-4 mintues to shoot one ball. Why not just leave the tables up that were by the bathrooms and in the back of the bar by the dart boards???
