It was a perfect sunny day in the high 80's as 32 teams entered the WBPT's first ever international tournament in Acapulco, Mexico. Amongst these 32 teams: 16 were all girls, 14 were all guys and 2 were mixed doubles.
Team '5-Star', consisting of Billy Montana and Thomas Euhrhart came into the bracket with determination. They battled their way through games undefeated until they hit a brick wall: Team 'Warriors, Guns and Money', a ruthless opponent consisting of the WBPT’s very own Neil Kapoor and his partner John Terracciano. After losing to Warriors, Guns and Money, 5-star had to battle their way back to the finals through the losers bracket.
On their way back up they eliminated an amazing playing female team, 'I Love This Bullsh*t', who received 3rd place in our double elimination tournament. In the finals 5-star found themselves once again facing team 'Warriors, Guns, and Money', but fate was on their side when one of the warriors was standing as if he had been injured in battle (too much Corona perhaps?).
As a result, '5-star' was able to defeat the 1 and a half person team of 'Warriors, Guns, and Money' to claim the title of first international winning team. 5-star received a free trip to the WBPT Championship tournament in Atlantic City in June.
