On Saturday, October 18th, 44 teams from New York City and the tri-state area gathered to compete on Opening Day of the Fall 08 season @ Porky's NYC in Manhattan. Vince Catizone and Matt O'Neill of 'The Outsiders' claimed their second tournament victory taking down 'Pills Are Good' Scott Krinsky and Justin Sharovy. The Wizard Sleeves Tom Gallione and Tobin Whitmann placed third and The Lefty Connection Jay Soltren and Kyle Williams took home 4th place. 'Here for Beer' lead by Matt Myers and Shintaro Higashi rounded out the top 5.
The Outsiders, after losing to Pills Are Good in the winners final beat Wizard Sleeves in the loser's bracket final. After this, they used their momentum to rally and win 2 in a row to capture the win and a free Spring Break Trip.
'It feels good to come out and win the first fall tournament, Matt and I played some of our best beer pong tonight,' commented Catizone, the tournament MVP after the event and captain of 'The Outsiders.'The Fall season continue this week with tournaments in Rochester, Poughkeepsie, Buffalo, Fredonia, Pleasantville and New York City.
