World Beer Pong Tour has always sought to bring the best beer pong experience to all of the players. Starting August 14, this experience will be taken to a whole new level.
A brand new rankings system will be used to rank the best beer pong players in the USA.
The player performance index on which these rankings are based will include data, such as tournament games won, cup differential, and top 8 finishes.
The WorldPongTour.com website will also expand to include player profiles for all ranked players as well as special interviews and feature stories on top players.
The first official Professional Tour Event will be held at Paulie’s Bar and Grill in Pleasantville, NY on August 14, 2010. The event will be capped at only 72 teams.
"This is a great day for the sport of beer pong," commented WBPT Commissioner Sam Pong. "By bringing official rankings to the sport, we are taking one more step in the right direction to legitimize and standardize the game."
For players and teams, looking to be a part of the initial professional rankings system, it is required to participate in the August 14th event in Westchester County, NY. Rankings will be released on a player basis and the first edition of the rankings will be posted in September 2010.
"The top player on the winning team will automatically be ranked #1 in the first edition of the rankings and may someday be the answer to a trivia question," commented WBPT CEO Eric Parker.
